On April 28th, from 7-8 pm the Special Services Department will be hosting a virtual Parent University offered by Effective School Solutions. The Language of Behaviors: Understanding Challenging Behaviors presentation will assist parents in how to evaluate what a child’s behavior is trying to communicate? Behavior is a form of communication which is especially important when a child has limited means of expressing themselves or has neither the developmental level or psychological capacities to “tell us” how they are doing and how we are doing with them. This workshop develops the ability to appreciate and understand the behavioral relevance and messaging of children. The Zoom information is available on this document.
On March 31st, at 7:00 P.M., Pequannock Township School District will be hosting a Parent University from Mr. John Morello. For over twenty years, John has been traveling the country and performing in crowded theaters, classrooms, small towns, and big cities.
The "Dirt" presentation will explore the challenges and decisions that young people face every day. Dirt gets to the heart of issues related to drugs, bullying, and self-esteem in a manner that resonates with audiences in a real and meaningful way. Through the portrayal of relatable and memorable characters, John Morello gives voice to those who sometimes feel as though they are not heard and reassurance to those who sometimes feel as though they are not understood. John does not preach, teach, or lecture; instead, he takes students on a journey that challenges them to think about the choices they make and how those choices impact their own lives and the lives of those around them.
This presentation will be offered in-person only in the PTHS auditorium.
